Dubai’s most beloved summer festival is back — and this year’s edition is the biggest in its history. Dubai Summer Surprises 2026 (DSS) runs for a full 60 days from July 2 to August 30, transforming the city into a non-stop celebration of shopping, entertainment, dining, family activities and once-in-a-lifetime prizes.
With temperatures outside nudging 40°C, Dubai has long perfected the art of making summer its own. Air-conditioned malls, beach resorts, waterparks, and indoor entertainment venues combine to create a summer experience unlike anywhere else on earth — and DSS 2026 adds layers of deals and events on top of that foundation.
Shopping: Discounts Up to 90%
The Great Dubai Summer Sale anchors the retail calendar, with discounts of up to 90 per cent across fashion, electronics, jewellery, homeware and beauty at every major mall from Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates to City Centre Deira and Dragon Mart. Flash deals, brand-specific promotions and limited-time offers are scheduled throughout the 60-day window, giving shoppers reason to visit multiple times across the season.
From August 3 to 30, the Back to School campaign takes over with targeted offers on uniforms, electronics, stationery and children’s fashion across the city’s retail network. A first-ever Back-to-School Carnival (August 7–8) turns the shopping experience into a full family event with activities, performances and giveaways at participating malls.
Win Your Home in Dubai
The headline prize campaign of DSS 2026 is “Win Your Home in Dubai” — a citywide initiative in partnership with Binghatti Developers that gives any shopper spending AED 500 or more at participating outlets an entry into a draw for one of 12 residential units. Eleven studio apartments and one grand prize two-bedroom apartment are up for grabs, making this the most tangible reward scheme ever attached to a Dubai shopping festival.
Entertainment: Beat the Heat DXB and Big Concerts
Beat the Heat DXB, the UAE’s largest summer concert series, returns with its biggest lineup yet. The series runs across multiple venues and weekends throughout July and August, featuring regional and international artists across multiple genres — from Arabic pop to international acts targeting the city’s vast South Asian and Western expatriate communities.
A headline standalone event is the Miami Musical Show at Coca-Cola Arena on August 28 — marking the show’s first performance outside Kuwait and bringing a Broadway-calibre spectacle to Dubai’s premier live events arena.
Dining: Restaurant Week and AED 10 Dishes
Food lovers have two dedicated campaigns to look forward to. Summer Restaurant Week (July 13 – August 2) sees Dubai’s restaurant scene offer curated set menus at premium venues at accessible price points, drawing both tourists and residents to try new dining experiences. This is followed by the 10 Dirham Dish promotion (August 3–30), where participating food and beverage outlets across the city offer a signature dish for just AED 10 — one of the most accessible and popular recurring initiatives in Dubai’s culinary calendar.
Family Activities
Modesh World at Dubai World Trade Centre continues its run as one of the most popular children’s entertainment destinations in the region, with indoor rides, shows, themed zones and interactive experiences designed for families with children of all ages.
Opening weekend celebrations across Dubai’s major shopping destinations will transform malls into immersive entertainment hubs with live performances, character appearances and activity zones to kick off the season with energy on July 2.
Hotels: Summer Packages at Record Value
Dubai’s hotel sector — which recorded its highest-ever occupancy rates in December 2025 as visitor numbers crossed 19.6 million — has released a wave of summer packages timed to DSS. Many of the city’s five-star properties are offering room rates significantly below their peak-season levels, combined with resort credit, dining packages and complimentary theme park access. For visitors from Europe, North America and East Asia, a Dubai summer break in 2026 represents outstanding value per experience dollar spent.
How to Get the Most from DSS 2026
The Dubai Tourism app and the official visitdubai.com portal carry the full event calendar, participating retailers and prize campaign details. Key tips: register your spending receipts digitally for the Win Your Home draw as soon as you shop; book Beat the Heat DXB concerts early as past editions have sold out; and check the specific mall app for flash-deal alerts that are often only announced 24 hours in advance.
Whether you are a UAE resident looking for a staycation, a GCC visitor driving in for the weekend, or an international traveller planning a summer trip, DSS 2026 makes July and August in Dubai one of the world’s most compelling consumer events on the calendar.
